How to Approach Loved Ones about Their Rapture Readiness
The biggest reason most Christians fear broaching the topic of salvation with their loved ones and friends is the fear of offending them or making them angry. While that is never the intention, it can happen.
To help allay the fears and avoid upsetting both the saved and unsaved ones that we love and cherish, how we approach them on this topic as it relates to the Rapture Will is as important as when we talk with them about this matter.
Of course, the when is NOW. Christ tells us not to tarry in our
decision. One day too late will be one day too late forever.
So, we're sharing our approaches to breaking the ice and starting the conversation. We hope other Christians will be willing to share with us how you have approached this matter with your own saved and unsaved loved ones and allow us to share your tips with others. Truly, none of us is as smart as all of us!
-
Always begin the conversation in the spirit of love.
-
Confess that you have done this same assessment of your faith walk.
-
Explain why you're having this conversation. The main reason is to help ensure this person is firmly in the palm of God's hand.
-
If you don't know this loved one's salvation testimony, ask that he or she share it with you. Embrace it. Cherish it.
-
Ask the loved one to take a few quiet moments to consider these faith self assessment questions:
* Do I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is the
only begotten son of God, was crucified for my sins, overcame death,
has risen, and sits now at the right hand of the Father in Heaven?
* Have I had a specific moment in time when I asked Christ to forgive my
sins, save me from hell, and place His Holy Spirit in my heart to dwell
there forever?
* Do I tell others about God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit?
* Can I take the Bible and show an unsaved person how to become a
Christian?
* Do I pray on a regular basis, not only asking for the Lord's help, but also
giving Him thanks for his many blessings in my life?
* Do I grow in my faith by reading my Bible and learning more about God?
* Do I belong to a local body of believers?
* Do I believe God has a plan for each person's life?
Speaking with Professing Christians
Speaking with Unbelievers and Doubters
It typically doesn't take long to determine the scope of one's position with God and Christianity. For the Rapture Will conversation that will help determine if the unbeliever or doubter is a good beneficiary candidate, above all else, proceed with love and respect of the person.
Beginning with that foundation...,
-
Explain your Rapture belief as based on scripture, which is the groundwork for this conversation.
-
Explain that you have had this soul-searching conversation with others who are included in your Last Will and Testament, and based on their professions of faith have determinedthat they will be included in the Rapture event with you, prompting the need for other beneficiaries of your estate, should the Rapture occur while you are living.
-
Ask this individual for permission to ask where he/she stands on some critical faith questions, including:
* Is God important to you? If yes, in what ways?
* When you die, where do you believe your soul will spend eternity?
-
The answers to these questions will prepare you to further explore this individual's faith position and determine this person's likelihood of being a beneficiary candidate for your Rapture Will.
